I stumbled across these images of Carey Mulligan photographed by Ben Weeler, whilst procrastinating from my work. Although I have never seen her in anything, I followed her wardrobe decisions through this season's awards shows, and agree with most other people that she definitely has natural style and can pull off looking classic and stylish but with a youthful edge and looking her age. My favourite was definitely the Prada dress she wore to the Oscars, with Prada obviously loving it to with them providing all the clothes for this shoot.
These images are from the April/May issue of Wonderland and are styled by Grace Cobb. I love the Twiggy-inspired style of the shoot! Although I do have a major soft spot for anything that looks remotely like Twiggy's modelling career from the '60s, I think that Carey and her delicate bone structure pulls off the dramatic eye make amazingly and that it works well with her pixie crop of blonde hair. My favourite garment choice of the photo shoot is the classic, tailored white shirt, the elegant style of it providing a visual contrast to the dramatic and daring eye make up. One of these days, I aim to be able to apply eye make like this!
