J'adore Couture!

One of my biggest loves of the fashion industry is couture. While it is becoming more of a dying art in recent years due to the phenomenal price tags of the pieces, this extravagance of the clothes is what I love. I believe that with couture you get to see the designers talent and passion for clothes and beauty. Even though most of the time, couture is totally impractical, this is what I love, clothes and escapism at its best!

A couture collection that I, without a doubt, love, is that of Dior. I think that the imagination and design aesthetic of John Galliano suits the nature of couture to a T. The images below are my favourite pieces of the Fall 2010 collection, happening a few days ago.

Strongly influenced by nature, these outfits provide a shape-enhancing feminine silhouette. I love the explosion of bright, beautiful, vibrant colours, qualities you imagine the women who would be able to pull off these clothes would be like.

GLASTONBURY! part two

I still feel on such a high from GLASTONBURY, with two of my friends posting their photos on facebook to help me relive it through periods of withdrawl. These photos have been taken and edited by our budding photography-campers, Matt Popay and Robin Evans. These are the best selection of photos of us watching the sunset on the hill on the first night, chilling around the campsite during the day on Thursday and in between acts, watching acts together and generally have a GLASTO-TASTIC time!
